Space is big. Really big. You just won't believe how vastly, hugely, mindbogglingly big it is. I mean, you may
think it's a long way down the road to the chemist's, but that's peanuts compared to space! In fact, space is so big that no one will ever get the the end of it!
The Space the RP is concerned with
The space this RP is concerned with, however, is not as big as Space. This RP, for some silly reason, concerns itself with the Milky Way Galaxy, a but of space so small it may not be legitimately Space!
People who balls around is Space
Even in the tiny bit of Space we're dealing with, there are still a lot of people who are mucking about in space (most of which still think that digital watches are the best thing that ever happened to them). Currently, there are two types of people known to be mucking about in Space:
The Humans and the Pylorians; although many more are bound to crop up soon. Note that neither race is very impressive, and only one of them has arms (hint: It's the less successful of the two).
Ways to get around in Space
For some reason, instead of solving the problems they have at home, creatures generally like going into Space. Why this is is unknown; but it is believed that it has something to do with making better digital watches.
The current best way to transverse space is in a space ship, which is an uninventive name somehow simultaniously invented by every species in the Milky Way (all two of them!). Space ships are generally not powerful enough to move far enough fast enough, so the best way to get between systems is by getting shot out of a giant warp-cannon into a tiny alternate dimension, hoping you don't re-emerge in the heart of a sun. Why no one has made a better alternative, nobody knows.
